This year will mark the first time in several years that Alberta will not boast Canada's fastest growing economy, according to the latest economic forecast from Toronto Dominion Bank. TD predicts the most economic growth for Newfoundland and Labrador, followed closely by Saskatchewan though all provinces will experience growth on some level.
Alberta, though still expected to experience strong growth, will slow in comparison to recent years, analysts say. This will allow for other provinces to narrow the gap between themselves and Canada's most prosperous province. British Columbia is also expected to continue performing well.
Growth is to be stimulated by several factors, most notably increased spending and employment. Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as Saskatchewan, are all on track to experience surges due to their natural resources of oil and crops, respectively.
