One of the forum member posted this:

"Canadian Immigration is the first name of "Waiting n Waitings"

When you apply you have to wait for 7 years to get first response for updation documents then 5 months for provisional approval then 6 motnhs for Medicals then 6 - 8 months for visa. Now, after arrival and after spending 3 years immigrant have to wait for passport/citizenship for 1-2 years.

When one apply in young age in 30 years and get passport in 40 years with tears."

I am from Kathmandu. I applied on Feb 2009 and waited for nearly 8 months. Now they have not given me point for my Master Degree. I did not have enough time to receive my Provisional Certificate (you know TU takes more than 15 days for this certificate). So, my case status is "Decision Made" i.e. rejection. As your suggestion I am going to request them to re-open my case.

Kristina,
For the post Feb 2008 cases, the wait time is not that long . Therefore, you have time to regroup yourself , do the needful and get going again. if you fall under the Noc 38 jobs, you have this advantage over the earlier ones. But take special care of your stocks and barrels before you start doing this the second time. Wish you Good luck !

Kristina,

If you applied through a consultant, unless you otherwise arrange further only your representative has the sole authority to communicate with the concerned CHC on your behalf. Please liaise with your representative to make your case across the CHC office bearers.

Keshabji,

Yes, it is a sorrow fact that all the files from India, Nepal and Bhutan are piled up at one stack and we are made to stand in a never ending single queue. I don't know what word will best describe our plight !

After Nepal appointing its first ambassador to Canada and establishing the embassy there, Canada is also thinking of opening its counterpart office in Kathmandu. It may somehow help us to have access of communication, but the plight of immigration applicants may not improve from this either. However, in two to three years time, Nepalese applicants may get opportunity to be interviewed in Kathmandu itself instead of going to Delhi.

Kristina,

Wish you good luck .

What consultant need is money . They will show readiness to action if they can charge you. They will be 'salting' or 'insulting' anybody till the time they can 'con' and 'squeeze' one .

शुभकामना !

Consultants don't have to appeal for that. Just ask them to send the necessary docs and a request letter addressing your problem (mentioning why you didn't submitted your docs earlier) as soon as possible. Once your status changed to In-Process, then in my advise, remove your consultant from your case. They just make money and make case further worse.
You can get far better advise and experience from the forum like this.

Regards. Thumbs Up

But in order to do your immigration stuff by yourself, you have to first follow the proper procedure to remove your representative from representing you. Please refer to CIC's link ( website) and get informed adequately before you start doing the rest on your one. The legal typicalities are there to be taken care of first .

Good luck.

Is Canada going to open its visa section in Nepal?

Posted By: krisp
Date Posted: 10 Dec 2009 at 9:07am
Kristina,

Most probably not . Canada despite having their consulates/ embassies/Hi.coms in different countries of Asia , doesn't process immigration cases in each of them but centralizes the work in certain countries as decided by Canadian government and CIC. Canada may however start to arrange interviews of Nepalese applicants in Kathmandu as in the case of Bangladeshi applicants  after Canada formally opens its embassy in Nepal. The applicants of Laos, Indonesia and Banladesh are still processed in Singapore but their interviews are arranged within their own countries if applicants have opted for the same.

And how is our country doing Keshabji?

Now they have 'khumbuwan', 'kochila' and 'Limbuwan' and now the maoists are dividing the nation on ethnic lines. One day, perhaps there will come a situation when we will be fighting an ethnic war like in Ruwanda and seeking asylum . Do I sound a bit extreme ?

Keshabji ani Kristinaji,

Really speaking all the sane and sensible people in our हाम्रो देशमा are helpless to chase these political miscreants( भण्डाल र धुन्धकारीहरू )away. And those Junks ( in Kristina's words) are there to snatch things by force and impose their autocracy upon people with their violent means. It was one of the main reasons why I applied for Canadian immigration unable to see any future for children .I don't think the situation will improve for at least a decade. And here ,too, there is so much of uncertainty .

ust for Information:

Question: Does immigrating lead to Canadian citizenship?

Answer: Immigrating to Canada is the first step to becoming a Canadian citizen. For many, becoming a Canadian citizen is the eventual goal of the immigration process. When an individual first lands in Canada as a permanent resident, he has already been accepted to live and work within this country so long as he shares it peaceably. The final step to accepting Canada and being a Canadian is citizenship.

Permanent residents who have lived for three of the previous four years in Canada can apply for citizenship. Citizenship is granted to people who have used their time as permanent residents to learn to communicate in English or French, to learn about Canada as a country, and to learn about the rights and responsibilities all Canadian citizens share.

All Canadians are privileged with the same freedoms, such as: the right to vote, the right to exit and enter Canada, the right to work and live in any part of the country, the right to be educated in either English or French, and the right to apply for a Canadian passport, among others.

Each year, almost 150,000 permanent residents take the final step and become Canadian citizens who enjoy the same rights as everyone who became Canadian by birth.

Just for information contd....

Newcomers to Canada have a large number of settlement services available to them once they arrive, most of which are provided to them at no cost. In recent years, the http://canada.gc.ca/ - Canadian government has consistently increased funding to provinces and municipalities, to enable them to provide as well as improve settlement services for their immigrants. This month, we look at a few of the wealth of new initiatives that benefit new Canadians and ease http://www.canadavisa.com/settlement-canada.html - their settlement process .

Throughout September and October, http://www.cic.gc.ca/ - Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) announced http://www.canadavisa.com/canadian-government-announces-local-immigration-partnerships-two-more-ontario-regions-091013.html - multiple local immigration partnerships with municipalities in http://www.canadavisa.com/about-ontario.html - Ontario such as Hamilton and York. The municipalities received funding from the federal government to develop settlement strategies that will help their newcomers integrate.

In http://www.canadavisa.com/about-manitoba.html - Manitoba , immigrants can get ahead on their settlement process with the http://www.canadavisa.com/entry-program-for-new-manitobans-091009.html - ENTRY program , a four-week program designed to help newcomers learn about life and work in Manitoba. A new aspect of the settlement process, such as finding employment, is covered each week, and a one-week express program covering all the topics is also offered.

Last month CIC revealed that it would be sending http://www.canadavisa.com/cic-announces-language-training-for-new-immigrants-091016.html - language training vouchers , which would enable individuals to take classes in one of the official languages free of charge, to newcomers chosen at random as part of a pilot project.

WelcomeBC, a settlement resource for new Canadians in http://www.canadavisa.com/about-british-columbia.html - British Columbia , recently http://www.canadavisa.com/british-columbia-announces-enhanced-immigration-settlement-services-portal-090918.html - enhanced their online services portal with the help of funding from the provincial and federal governments. The enhanced website includes task wizards in six languages: English, Punjabi, French, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified, and Korean.

These are just some of the recent developments in settlement services in Canada that immigrants can take advantage of upon their arrival. The federal and provincial governments are constantly working to maximise the benefits these services provide to new Canadians.

According to them, the Canadian immigration office is refusing many cases though the situations were genuine. They are asking to re apply as soon as possible. According to them the Canadian immigration is going to change their immigration policy from Jan 2010. Is it correct? are you guys heard about it? Please suggest when to re apply before Jan or after Jan 2010.

It is quite unfortunate and sad that your consultant refuse to appeal for you. Why don't you send the docs by your-self and give a try. There is no harm to try. In the same envelop you can send one signed form for removing your consultant  from your application. Just give a try. It will cost you just the mailing charge.
regarding new application, its your choice, but before that you can give a try because you have invested some money already.
If you wish to reapply, then do it by yourself. Don't hire the consultant.
I am unaware about the rules changes in immigration process in 2010. It may be true or just the hoax.
Thank you

Kristina,

Mostly , consultants don't show interest to appeal on their client's behalf . The reason is they don't get the financial benefit out of it. I wold , therefore, advise you to reapply from the start after you make sure all the shortcomings that were there in your earlier filing of the immigration case have been overcome. In other words, take account of every detail and rectify the earlier problems that caused the rejection of your case and file your case anew.

Immigration policy may change any moment. Due to heavy  backlog , there are cases in queue that would last for a few years . SO Canada may do anything to withhold the flow of files reaching at its CHCs. Therefore , file your case the soonest possible. Because policy changes normally don't affect the already filed cases. Good luck !

Kristinji,

Appealing through these thugs is really tedious. They don't do it , believe me . Its because they don't like to be involved into legal hassles as their time and resources will get sucked into it for not much of the benefits. I think , by now you know how immigration process works and  relying on these , you can apply yourself . Every bit of information is available in CIC web page and we can collect them if necessary. Wish you good luck on your next effort!

Anyway, thank you Kris and Kesab ji.

500K + 2250K=USD 2750K. By the way , they do not help in documentation, they just tell us this/that required which we can easily find in internet. के गर्ने? पहिला थाहा भयेन .

Kristinaji,

When I applied in 2006 August, I signed up for US$1750 with a consultant based in Mississauga, Ontario. But afterwards, I came to know that whatever they offered me as their service  was in fact nothing more than what I could have done to myself . It was a waste of money. Besides I came to know that they are not accountable for their own mistakes either.

I hope you will get all the support you need though. wish you best.

Fee is quite high but some of our friend (nepali guy) are referring their friends for the commission $100. That's suck.

My application is under review in the consultant's  head office. They are going to submit it to the immigration office by this week (they are taking more time then expectation). I am preparing the other documents. Do you have any idea how to make good bank statement?

It took 8 months to decide my case. But now a days ppl are getting visa in 15 days + 4 months + 1.5 months + 15 days = 6.5 months or less. In my case, I will save the 4 months period (i already have IELTS and other documents ready).

CHC Delhi is in a deep sleep as regards  immigration files of pre Feb 2008 applicants are concerned.

Besides , mid December to first half of January is their festive season and holiday period allowing them to celebrate. We can hope for least during this time. Wish them good celebration, while we are languishing in this perennial wait ! Happy New Year to all !

I agree with Krisp. But it looks like things are moving ahead (though slow). Some positive signs. One applicant VikB who applied very close to me (29th Dec, 03) got medicals this week.
I hope mine will come with in 2 weeks (just assumption).

Happy new year to you all.
