hello Canadian,
I was wondering do you think going to the embassy in person to require what's going on with our case would be helpful. We are past 12 months, and december is approaching really fast, I am really stressed out, I had my hopes up that my husband was going to be with me for the new year but it doesn't look like it because medicals re - do aren't requested as of yet. I don't know what to do.
If I wanted to write a letter to somebody about this situation who would it be other than my MP, because MP seems to be getting tired by requesting information from embassy so I want to go to higher position and write a letter explaining the hard time we're going through and that there is no reason for delay in our case since we submitted everything on time and complete.

i really dont know big baby..if one can go to AUH OFFICE in person to talk about the case. INFO is provided at MISS PH LINE. The center entertain calls if you have any question. The people there r nice. U can ask them. I know some1 said that it is no use but trust me no harm trying esp try those who actually TALK & REPLY!
TRY another Influential and good MP? try it..as previously disucssed it is possible to do so. i know we just have to wait:( MP is the last resort.
Dont mail AUH office a lot, they really get frustrated.sounds childish but that makes the "delay"..
gud luck to all and hmm new site!!!

anyways, I guess I better keep myself busy or CRAZY busy so i'm not thinking about this while awake and asleep.

guys i wanted to know after one gets PR and lands in canada, after how many days can one leave to travel out of canada for few days??is there a time limit/frame that one has to leave only after ___mths after arrival to canada?

Posted By: try_this

You can Travel anytime after landing, Ideal is to wait for the PR card to arrive which takes 6-8 Weeks Max...

You can travel without PR card as well, if you have someone who can receive the Card and send/hand it to you before your next entry to Canada.

hey guys, hope you all are doing well. just wanted to update on my hubbys arrival at the pearson. Customs and immigration was a breeze and they were extremely courteous and friendly. The officer did not ask any questions but only asked for the mailing address where the pr card will be mailed. He also advised it would take approximately 1 month and half for it to arrive. Then he told us about getting his sin card etc etc. In all it took less than 5-7mins for everything to be done and it is a blessing to finally be united. I hope all are doing well and hoping that everyone goes thru this asap.

Congrats Mizz:)

AUH asked us to send the remaining 7 documents that are ready and gave us a 60 day extension for the 8th document. Alhamdullilah

@Pt14,
it is actually good if you already re-did the Medical, Because MEDICAL REDO is only asked if they made Positive Selection Decision.
So it is just  matter of time that your Background Check gets completed and You get the final result i.e. PPR!!!!!!

why etobicoke??

Posted By: Miz999
Date Posted: 04 Dec 2009 at 7:00pm
try-this- thats awful! Sponsors eligibility? what the heck? doesnt that take place right in the beginning- if they had issues they should have told you so right in the beginning and yeah whats with etobicoke? Thats awful! What does that even mean? keep us updated<sigh>

Posted By: bigbaby
Date Posted: 05 Dec 2009 at 10:08am
omg, Try-this what is that, now i'm scared to get an update through MP.
do you mind to tell us why they are looking into your eligibility, is it because of job changing, or unemployment or what, CIC in etobicoke!!!!!!!!!

Posted By: try_this
Date Posted: 05 Dec 2009 at 12:05pm

@bigbaby,

Issue is that I left immediately in Sep 2007 after my landing in July 2007.And stayed Out for 5 Months in Doha Qatar ( i was working there ) before returning to Canada for good in Feb 2008 after my Marriage.

Major Issue is that we applied for my hubby's Visit Visa in June 2009, and one of the officer called his workplace and the Admin Person ( God Bless Him!!!)  told the IO that i stay with my Hubby in Qatar ( when i was in Canada since Feb 2008). He wasn't aware and gave all this wrong information, So our case which was on edge on Completion( i guess) gets COMPLICATED 100%, They forwarded our file to CIC- Etobicoke in july 2009.

Our MP got update in July 09 from Abu Dhabi where they said" they forwarded our file for review by Canadian Partners and IF they get Timely Response our case will be finalized by October"

After few days they asked us for all additional original Documnets, including Spondor's (My) Travel histrory issued by Qatari Government. So we sent all docs on 1st Aug.

In october nothing happened and my MP said that we will wait for November too, So on 2nd Dec I Asked the MP again for update, and what response i get you already know.

So Basically my file is with CIC Etobicoke for review since july 09 and nobody bothers to review that and send the response to Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi even has all my updated proofs including my travel history from Qatari Govt is doing nothing and waiting for CIC-Etobicoke's reply. So all in All we are Stuck I don't know when they are going to send their review and Abu Dhabi is going to go ahead AngryAngryAngry

Try_this,why u don't call CIC Etobicke and simply ask If they have ur file, may be they will realize their delay.here is the phone.you can reach them.

ohh I see, this is complicated. I just have a comment though, I know how picky and carefull canadian immigration is about confidentiality and making sure they are speaking to the right person, why and how did they consider information taken from admin or someone else other than the applicant as valid information, or how did they even speak to somebody else about someone else's case I don't see that appropriate. but anyways, I would do try what bile suggested and call CIC etobicoke since you know that the delay is coming from their side, and it is in your eligibility to sponsor that means application is yours and not the sponsored person.

I really wish you all the best and hope things work out for the best

Posted By: try_this
Date Posted: 05 Dec 2009 at 11:27pm
I have no idea why would they believe on third person??, But they can always do the cross check and if doubtful they do whatever they think is right. That is the reason they forwarded our file for review to CIC-Etobicoke.

Issue is not with Forwarding the File, Issue is that they are already slowest embassy and they send it it one of the slowest in Canada.....Cry

I think it is JUST THAT MY BAD TIME ISN'T OVER YET!!!!!!!

Dear All

Canadian Immigration is the first name of "Waiting n Waitings"

When you apply you have to wait for 7 years to get first response for updation documents then 5 months for provisional approval then 6 motnhs for Medicals then 6 - 8 months for visa. Now, after arrival and after spending 3 years immigrant have to wait for passport/citizenship for 1-2 years.

When one apply in young age at 30 years and get passport in 42 years with tears. Cry

10 minutes later he calls me says he talked to immigration and they said they had sent a request for additional docs and asked me if we submitted the additional docs and i said yes we did

he said the day they received the docs they started processing our case again!! And that the case is within NORMAL time frame and that it is moving well. He said to call him back in a month to make another inquiry!! doesn't seem like we are getting there!!

One more thing, can we send scanned copies of the forms and documents through email or is it necessary to courier the documents to the embassy?

hi everyone,
im a Filipino working here in riyadh, and my police clearance  already expired last july 2009.
as per reply of abu dhabi from my wife's MP.. all my papers are ready for final processing but they are just waiting for my wife's landing papers to be given. last month my wife already receive her landing papers...we are hoping that after the canadian immigration inform the abu dhabi.. they will do the final processing of my papers.   but im worried that they will still ask me to submit an updated police clearance... anyone who has experience reagarding the police clearance re- submission?

bigbaby, I did visit the embassy in person, i told them I am a canadian citizen and I am not leaving until we speak with somebody. I was in dubai at the time visiting my wife and i took her with me to the embassy. it did help in that we did an interview together on the spot, they instantly released the medicals so we could re-do it, and we got things shaking a little bit. this office is very slow, but visiting will definately help in getting things moving, rather than sitting at home waiting blindly. I suggest that if you are able to go, then do it and take your husband, and be firm with them. get past the security by using your status as a canadian citizen. be nice to them, be professional, but be firm. if you've been waiting for a year, then you have every right to go and speak with somebody.

it is december now, they told us she would have her visa in november, but then they came back requesting more documents and this has caused more delays. but the bottom line is that we went there and got things moving. if you can do the same, i suggest you do.

bigbaby, i can not guarantee that you will get anywhere, so expect the worst. they turned me away when i first went in, they told me to fill out a form and wait a week for a reply. i told them that this process doesn't work for me and that i need to speak with somebody. the officer we spoke with was very nice and helpful and apologized for the delays but explained why things go so slow. he told me that 90% of their applicants are people who don't actually live in canada and who just want the papers, so it is hard to weed out these cased from those of people living in canada with genuine intententions. the problem is that so many people have played games with the system and have brought it to the point where the rest of us suffer.

wish you all the best

wow thanks for sharing the info rabahha.much appreciated.that is a very brave step to actual go in person and talk to them because the case could go both ways.
u r right that is why i presume they ask many of us with Questions like where is the sponsor right now, what he/she doing in canada, and intentions of living in canada.
and those who are in canada atleast should get a FAST response?!!:(
atleast we have an explanation as to why this office is slow!

Date Posted: 10 Dec 2009 at 1:22am

the only reason I see a case going the wrong way is that if you can not convince the officer that your marriage is genuine, or if the person you are sponsoring has a bad history. we have nothing to hide, and after sitting with my wife and I for 20 minutes, the officer said that he was completely satisfied with us as a couple. I was answering questions about her family that she wasn't too sure of, so yes if you go in, make sure you are not going to make a fool of yourself. now it is at the point of paperwork and beaurocracy, so you have to be patient and let them do their paperwork.

btw, I went to see my MP in september and he said don't expect to hear something until the spring time. i sure am glad we went to the embassy!

Hi every one

I just registered my self since I got Manitoba provincial approval (Business class) and looking to seek some information how to submit my documents to embassy.

Regarding police clearance from Saudi Arabia and since I am no longer living there since 4 years, I got message from Embassy in Abu Dhabi telling me that I can't obtain police clearance from Saudi in my case.

I prepare police clearance from Dubai and Syria (the places where I lived in) I prepare police clearance I I Iprepared police clearance from Dubai and Syria (the places where I lived in)

So my question is , since I will have this missing clearance from Saudi, is this will delay the process of my application since some one told me that Canadian embassy will get the police clearance on behalf of me and this will take long time?

I found some one who told me that he can get me police clearance from Saudi but he is asking for 1000$, and I am not sure if I can trust him about this matter.

I hope any of you have any kind of information or experience about this subject.

here is my MP update,

I inquired as to the status of your husband’s sponsorship application. The processing time in Abu Dhabi is 18 months and we are now at 14 months. Immigration has assured me that everything is going well and that there are no concerns so far. There will be a review on Jan. 13, 2010 and at that time they will require updated medicals. Should you require an update after that time please do not hesitate to contact my office.

I don't really know if it makes me happy or not but atleast I know where I am standing right now, but a whole month from now just for review, then medical request, that will take a good 4-6 months to process, I never thought I was going to wait until next summer but it seems like I will, well I should say alhumdolilah that there are no concerns on our file that's a plus for us. but 18 months, a year an half to process files for husband and wife to be together I find it reallllly long.
anyhow that's my update

I guess you are right..Canadian Apr2009.

Just a quick question to all of you guys:

My wife(who is the sponsor and lives in Canada) will be visiting me(coming to UAE) in February. Will this visit delay my application process. She can come earlier also but the thing is that she will have her tax filed by end of January.

Please advise if this will effect my application process for the immigration(sponsorship).

Thanks!

Hi scorpioo,
What was your AOR? Also is your wife a Canadian citizen? It shouldn't be a problem however if she is a PR try and keep your trip short. How long is she planning on visiting you for? :)

Hi Miz999,

5th November was my AOR(I got the email from immigration saying that my application(I am the applicant) is in process). Yes, she is a Canadian Citizen. We are planning on being together till my immigration visa is issued inshaAllah.

Hi scorpio,
So your wife currently is not working- which is fine as it is not a requirement. However, once the embassy is ready to issue the visa- they might also ask for you & your wife to show strong proof you will be residing in Canada- eg. house, rent, enrollment in a school etc.
So just be aware of that only. Goodluck!:)

You normally wait for them to request you the info. so that you don't slow down the process by constantly interrupting the process.
