OMG, I just got an email from mcarrolls ecas tracker, A decision has been made on my husbands p.r. I feel sick now, what if it's not the right decision. Why did they make a decision & they never requested the passport????
Aren't we supose to get a ppr first & then decision made??? Now im so worried cas it may not be the right desision. If it was good news, then we wouldve been asked for ppr first, surely?

Has anyone else had this happen, decision made without a ppr??????? Please answer im going out of my mind!!!Shocked

I'm panicing again. How can they make a decision to issue a visa without seeing the passport first? Maybe they didnt issue ppr b'cas they've turned us down. I hope we get the letter tomorrow.

ig107, You are probably jumping too much.

I think they make a decision and in the decision letter or e-mail request for your passport. This is how i think it is done and like the other person sweetg said , just relax and check your emails.

Good luck

Ig107, I am sure this is the good news. Decision made is decision made and when you get your e-mail in a few days time, it will tell you what the decision is and i am sure it will be requesting for your passport. Good luck

They also put "decision made" on Ecas for AIP and when medical clearance has been given... so stop worrying Smile

We got the last "decision made" just before they requested my son's passport, the email came (to me) a couple of days later and then an official letter to my son in the UK about 7 days later.  His letter contained instructions on how to submit his passport for the visa issuance.

You could always contact CIC call centre (if you are in Canada or know someone who is) and ask them.. sometimes they will tell you.

When I called them when my Ecas last said "decision made" (it had said it twice before, once for AIP and once for medical clearance) they said "I am pleased to tell you your application has been approved and you will receive a letter in a few days... welcome to Canada!"

Keep checking the mail!

Smile

Let me ask you this Ig107, why so much fear??? was your case complicated? or straight foward?? I'm sure it will be well, God's in control....London often puts up " Decision made" before requesting your passport to put the shiny visa in.

Thanks guys.

I just remember the other posters that got ppr saying they were sending in their p.p. but didnt know if a decision was made. I thought we would get a ppr first. Well as you said decision made is decision made & i'll have to wait it out. I'v funny feeling we will get letter by post not email. Shouldnt take to long to get here from london. I'll be wishing the days away. would be nice to get good news friday cas it's my birthday sat & we could celebrate that too cas we're going to see "River Dance".

They can't refuse you without an interview. From your timeline you posted, you didn't say if you had an interview. if you didn't, it's a positive decision.

The only complicated part was that as the sponsor im not living in canada with a place to live & a job. so i book a flight to go aug 20th & i emailed them that. i was about to write to them today with a copy of the flight itinerary to prove im going one way & my husband has return ticket. the job thing i was going to sort out when i got the kids into school.

No we didnt have an interview. Thank you for that. Maybe it is good news after all. The reason i have so much fear as someone asked, is iv had a lot of bad luck over the last 2 years & for something good to happen would be fantastic.

Presumably you are a Canadian Citizen?  As long as you gave them proof of intent to return to Canada then that should have been ok. (if you are not a Canadian Citizen and only have PR status, you had to have been residing in Canada to be able to sponsor your husband).

My kids & I are canadian citizens. I emailed them to tell them i had one way flights booked for aug 20th for me & the kids. I was going to send in the proof today but they made the decision already.
London pushed it quicker for my kids to get their citizenship certs so they could start school in sept. The wait for the certs is 18 months, i emailed them asking for help & they pushed the Dublin office to get them for me. My only proof to return to canada was the travel Itinerary which i never got to send.

That was good of London to do that!

As to proof - it's a requirement to show intent to return, such as a job offer or applications for jobs,  house rental or purchase or a letter from relatives confirming that they are aware of your intent to return and will provide you with support whilst you find accommodation (or that they are letting you live with them), acceptance into school -  stuff like that.

Sponsors not residing in Canada must provide evidence that they reside exclusively outside Canada on the date of giving the undertaking and will reside in Canada at the time their sponsored spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner and/or children become permanent residents of Canada. Evidence that they will reside in Canada may include one or more of the following:

letter from an employer;
letter of acceptance to a Canadian educational institution;
proof of having rented/bought a dwelling in Canada;
reasonable plans for re-establishing in Canada or severing ties to the other country.

Presumably you sent that?

They probably know of your intent to return by the fact you asked them to rush through the citizenship for the children so they can attend school in September though Smile

I would just chill and wait for the letter..

Smile

This is not true - we were refused without an interview!  Typically they'll request an interview before they refuse someone for a marriage of convenience, but MOC is not the only reason they refuse applications.

lg107 - "Decision Made" is just that - it could go either way, but if there were no "issues" associated with your application, you have every reason to expect a positive outcome.  They don't just arbitrarily refuse people for no reason at all - the refusal has to be supported by the Act/Regulations.  Also, some visa offices request the passport before they make a decision - but not all.  I don't think London is one of them.  I think normally the applicant receives the decision letter and if the PR has been approved that letter will give instructions on how to submit the passport to the embassy to get the Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) document - which is then taken to the Canadian port-of-entry (with the passport) and the "landing" interview takes place, after which the applicant is an official landed immigrant.

If they don't believe that you intend to re-settle in Canada, they can refuse the application based on that - but normally that doesn't just come out of the blue.  If you did not submit sufficient proof of your intent to return to Canada, they should have addressed that issue during processing and asked for additional evidences.  If they never asked for more proofs, it's probable that they were satisfied with what you included with the application.

My e-cas said decision made before they sent the e-mail asking for my passport. So it does change to decision made BEFORE you get the letter/e-mail. Immigration is just full of evil little teases like that. :P

Our eCAS changed to "Decision Made" about 10 days before we received the decision letter, so what audball says is true.

Yes they can, they is nothing in the Act/Regulations that requires an interview for all refusal cases. Although most do have an interview.

I ended up checking on weekends even though we don't get weekend mail. When I wanted my sponsorship letter, that is. Luckily, my PPR came as an e-mail.

London CHC have said they will email my partner's 'passport request for visa submission' when they receive the last signed original document en route (but tantalisingly still not delivered by Royal Mail according to the tracking number), but then we are at the two year stage, so the IOs are pretty responsive to our emails now, it having exceeding standard processing times by over a year!

I'm sure it will be good news lg107.

lg -- thanks re: the candle.  Muchly appreciated by both of us.
My wife is nervous... and I'm starting to get that way - but I keep thinking that, given our current situation (unable to make any progress whatsoever) - that whatever happens to day will be better than where we are now.

Burn that candle brightly & think of us at 2pm EST.

Any news on your side?  I've been putting out good energy for a POSITIVE decision.  Fingers and toes crossed that you get information very very soon!   Waiting is hard on people...  I had no idea how hard it was until starting this process....

Harmonia, it's 6:30pm here in Ireland so it's 1:30pm over there in canada. So I'v just lit that candle for you & i'll keep it burning till I hear from you. P.G. you will get answers today, if there's any justice you will get this sorted once & for all. (i light a candle to my dear mother every day r.i.p. & iv lit one for you & your wife right beside it. My mother had this way of helping people, she took it upon herself to pray for anyone in trouble even people she just met so im sure keeping that candle lighting side by side can only help you) The very best of luck in a half hour & please let us know the outcome.
