Hello all, it's been ages since I have visited this website. I found these forums helpful when I was applying for Work Permits / PR etc. for myself and my wife. That was back in the days (almost a decade ago) and it’s been a couple of years since my family and I have been living in Canada as Citizens. I have “expressed my interest" (completed the online form on Jan 3) in sponsoring my parents under the new format established by CIC in 2017. What are your thoughts on this new process? While they have increased the quota from 5000 to 10,000 it is a bit of a gamble. I also don't like open ended phrases used “Step 3: Soon after the intake closes on February 2, 2017, we will randomly select 10,000 people…” What does “soon after" mean in terms of time? A day? A week? A month? Or more? Thoughts? |

has anybody received any email communication from CIC? After completing the form I was given a confirmation on the screen, but never received an email (CIC didnt specify that they will email after receiving our form) Moreover, I do know that CIC will email in any case (lucky draw or NOT) after choosing/inviting 10,000 applications. I was just getting anxious so that is why I wanted to confirm if someone has received any email communication from CIC or not. (I keep thinking I might have typed my email address incorrectly!) |

as of March 27, 2017 still nothing... I can assume there is no draw, they just quickly go over all submitted cases

| Its April 4th 2017, did any one receive a response from CIC regarding parental sponsorship, my understanding is that they will respond even if you were not selected. This is very stressful :( |

Hi, I have received email from CIC "Following your submission of the 'Interest to Sponsor' form, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is pleased to notify you that you have been selected to submit a complete application to sponsor your parents or grandparents." They want me to send application with my confirmation number I got after submitting web form. But I have not received any confirmation. Any idea what should I do now? ------------- Paresh |

Hello to everybody. My daughter who leaves in Canada received a letter from CIC about accepting the request for Parent's sponsorship. Now we will proceed with our application soon. I wish everybody who want to bring their parents gets a letter from CIC same as us as everybody wants to be with their loved ones. Dear Paresh..... This is that number when you have submitted the request and immediately you must received a confirmation number from CIC. That is the number you will need to send along with your application. Good Luck ------------- Humanity is the 1st Religion to follow. |

Hello Friends, It is noticeable that CIC has recently decided that all those who could not make in the first draw may have opportunity to be selected in the second draw, to be conducted soon. Hope, parents of the forum members shall now get chance.  God bless all !!!! parhar51
