following is posted by Ra00, found it from old forum ================================================================ Hey Guys!!!!!
Alhamdulillah I reached Toronto on 16 Oct. Immigration documentation ws very smooth.hardly it took 2-3 minutes.
I
had one bad experince at Islamabad airport while checking in. Anti
norcotics guy took US$20 (initilally he had asked US$50 but after
bargaining I was able to pay 20) as a bribe otherwise he told me to
create issue:(
I also lost US$5 at Pearson Toronto Airport. Here
at ther airport trolly to carry luggage is not free of cost. you have
to pay $2 per trolly. i had 5 big bags and three hand carry. so i
rented two trolly for $4 dollar. when i came home my aunti informed me
that i could get back my $4 if i had returned trolly. But as you know
we pakistanis are very NAWAB:)
I am really thankful to all of you guys and request to pray for a successful life.

Dear All
Canadian Immigration is the first name of "Waiting n Waitings"
When you apply you have to wait for 7 years to get first response for updation documents then 5 months for provisional approval then 6 motnhs for Medicals then 6 - 8 months for visa. Now, after arrival and after spending 3 years immigrant have to wait for passport/citizenship for 1-2 years.
When one apply in young age in 30 years and get passport in 40 years with tears.

Imran,
its really late that you did not received any information after submitting documents. No idea why its so late, because in most of the cases they verify the documents in 2 months. have you checked you ECAS online?
as far as the amount is concern yes you can use your money it will not affect the case, because when they will ask for PPR, they will need current bank statement
regards, Ali

Sounds a bit strange . No communication for this long under the fast track processing. Please try to communicate with CHC and get informed. About the bank deposit Ali24jan's advice is correct.

well my wife also working, but they did not verified from her employer current or previous, even they did not called my current employer, they only called my previous employer because of my applicable NOC code.
so in my case they only verified the profession of my NOC which is included in their eligible profession list.

all the photocopies are Notarized right? this maybe the reason of delay because now they have to verify these documents by their resources i guess, because they started calling your employer and stuff like that which means they are working on your case. So be patience and positive everything will be fine inshaAllah. regards, Ali

Canada to recognize foreign credentials sooner
OTTAWA (AFP) – Canada will soon fast-track verification of foreign work qualifications to help stem a growing shortage of skilled workers, the government announced Monday.
Many immigrants are now forced to take jobs in fields unrelated to their expertise while employers are struggling to fill vacancies for work that newcomers could do but lack the proper Canadian credentials.
Some wait years for their foreign work experience and education to be assessed as comparable, or not, to standards established for Canadian professionals.
"We want newcomers to be able to use their skills and work to their full potential. It's good for them and good for the Canadian economy," Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said in a statement.
Under the new rules, foreign-trained workers who submit an application to be licensed or registered to work in specific fields will be advised within one year whether their qualifications will be recognized in Canada.
As well, assessments are to be fair, transparent and consistent, said a government statement.
Foreign-trained architects, engineers, accountants, pharmacists, physiotherapists and nurses will be among the first to know speedily if their qualifications meet Canadian standards, by the end of 2010.
Two years later, dentists, physicians and teachers can expect fast-tracked checks of their credentials too.
"Attracting and retaining the best international talent to address existing and future labor market challenges is critical to Canada's long-term economic success," said Human Resources Minister Diane Finley.
"Ensuring that foreign credentials and qualifications are assessed and recognized in a timely manner will enable newcomers to maximize their talents," she said in a statement.
According to Statistics Canada, six in 10 immigrants do not work in their chosen field and 42 percent are overqualified for their current job.

As it is not mentioned that you should claim points only on experience in 38 professions, therefore old law of experience will be applicable unless the new law took place
as the basic requirement of applying is that you should have at least 1 year experience in designated NOC in last 10 years.

As i understand you may get 19 points, because now if u have applied in fast track, they are not considering experience of other noc, minimum 1 yr exp is required to be eligible and then points will be calculated as per the rule but only for the 38 professions.
still I will be happy if you get 21 points

Dear All,
With reference to original documents kindly can any one confirm which docs are to be send Original to CHC out of Degrees, Marks sheets, Emp. Letters, Birth certificate, IELTS score sheet, PCC, Bank statement, Nikah Nama.
Secondly If i lived in differnet cities of Pakistan for job and education purpose since my 18th birthday but mostly and currently living in my birth city, so do i need to arrange one PCC from the current one or from all of the cities.
On one website i have read that one of mate has submitted all the notarized copies of all above docs and he got the Medical request.
Thx!

Khalid_h / Imran,
if you take the self assessment test and reach at experience, they did not mention 38 profession they just mention NOC skill type 0, A and B, for some reasons they keep the things ambiguous so that either way is accepted.
because they mentioned earlier that if you have at least one year experience in 38 professions then go to take the test.
by the way, what is the current status of your case?

Well i can understand that my waiting time ( over one month) since the documents submitted is nothing compared to all you who have been waiting for a long time but I was just thinking that my status is still regarding CIO Sydney review completed. I read on some other forums that atleast their status was updated to documents received by visa office within weeks. InshAllah things will turn out better for everyone!

Dear all,
Are there any chances that immigration policy will
change in near future. I am asking this question because my current
score is 65 assuming moderate level in all four modules of ielts. I
want to take ielts first and then depending on score will decide to
apply or not.
Please advise.

Imran01,
Pls read R(80) below which is the only rule that CHC will follow to award points for work experience. Experience requirement in 38 occupations is only to make you eligible for FSW category.
80. (1) Up to a maximum of 21 points shall be awarded to a skilled worker for full-time work experience, or the full-time equivalent for part-time work experience, within the 10 years preceding the date of their application, as follows: (a) for one year of work experience, 15 points; (b) for two years of work experience, 17 points; (c) for three years of work experience, 19 points; and (d) for four or more years of work experience, 21 points.
(2) For the purposes of subsection (1), points are awarded for work experience in occupations, other than a restricted occupation, that are listed in Skill Type 0 Management Occupations or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification matrix.
(3) For the purposes of subsection (1), a skilled worker is considered to have experience in an occupation, regardless of whether they meet the occupation's employment requirements of the occupation as set out in the occupational descriptions of the National Occupational Classification, if they performed (a) the actions described in the lead statement for the occupation as set out in the National Occupational Classification; and (b) at least a substantial number of the main duties of the occupation as set out in the occupational descriptions of the National Occupational Classification, including all the essential duties.
(4) A period of work experience that exceeds full-time work in one occupation, or simultaneous periods of work experience in more than one full-time occupation, shall be evaluated as a single period of fulltime work experience in a single occupation.
(5) A skilled worker must specify in their application for a permanent resident visa the four-digit code of the National Occupational Classification that corresponds to each of the occupations engaged in by the applicant and that constitutes the skilled worker's work experience.
(6) An officer is not required to consider occupations that have not been specified in the application.
(7) For the purposes of this section, fulltime work is equivalent to at least 37.5 hours of work per week.

Faisal892,
Pls take IELTS first and then apply as soon as possible. And pls don't wait for any future policy, but just apply if you see that you are qualifying under current policy. Your time is very important in your life.

Thanks Immica, In the link u gave me I found this paragraph
- Missing documents / information related to admissibility: Any documents or information required to complete the admissibility review should be requested once SELDEC is passed. Missing admissibility documents should not hold up the final determination of eligibility or selection review.
D) Submission of application/documents after final determination of eligibility is complete
After a negative final determination of eligibility, the file is closed. A negative determination is final as of the date of the letter informing the applicant of the negative determination. Applicants who submit anything after such a letter has been sent should be informed that they may submit a new application to the CIO.
Note: Any documents received prior to the date of the letter, regardless of whether or not the 120 days have elapsed, must be considered. Visa offices cannot refuse to consider submissions made after 120 days, if the letters in either http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2009/ob120.asp#appA#appA - - Appendix D of OP 6 have not been sent. Therefore, it is important to produce the BF reports, make the final determination of eligibility and send the negative determination of eligibility for processing letters promptly
I think police certificates are required for admisibility and not for selection so that should not be a problem.

the experience of people who applied in 2004 is obviously more than fast track applicants

Imran if you see this extract from CIC site, you will know that refusals are quick, if its taking time that means they are confirming something but u meet the criteria
D) Submission of application/documents after final determination of eligibility is complete

It is not a regulated occupation at the moment, but international certification like Cisco, Microsoft or A+ are recognized and preferred in the field. As far as IT qualification like Ms, Bs, Mcs, ete;, concern, it's like the other professional qualification, one should have Canadian experience or education to be in IT field.
This is something called unwritten rules of Canadian job market

It would be good to change the name to a simple one, however, if it is not possible then new thread can be started. In my opinion, the new name could be:
