I am a citizen of both Taiwan and the states. I am about to apply for my study permit (as a U.S. citizen); however, my professor also asks me to meet him in Canada for scholarship and our future research project as soon as possible. Since Canada offers Taiwanese tourists visa free privilege, can I apply for the study permit, take the medical exam, and then fly to Canada as a Taiwan citizen to meet my professor (which mean I will not enter CA on my U.S passport but on my Taiwan passport )? When I receive my study permit, I will then fly to the states and re-enter Canada on my U.S. passport with my study permit. Will I have difficulty in entering and re-entering Canada? Thanks!

Not sure why not use US passport for visit to Canada? US passport holders are exempt from visas to Canada.
