Here's someone's experience, helpful for 2003 applicants who got Medicals Hi, I am a CA ( India). I landed in Feb 2005 from India. It was not a love at first sight for me. The sheer amount of snow on the ground was very unnerving, ( I have seen snow only on the Himalayas) After the initial gestation ( a week) I stared my job hunting. I was somewhat aware of what to expect ( courtsey CD and frriends). I planned not to deplete as far as possible the Indian fund which I brought, hence I took up some ODD jobs in the afternoon shifts( 3 to 11 p.m.). In the morning I used to visit all the Employment agencies and follow ups. Although none even replied or even hinted of anything positive. Only positive thing happened was the ODD jobs kept my fund intact ( almost). In the meantime I passed the G1 ( driver's test). I used to posts at least 30 resumes every day and make around 20 phone calls per day. Then the D day arrived in June. I was called for an interview in one of the biggest company and they offered me the job ( a week later). My family joined me in end May. My suggestions are :- 1. Avoid negetive influence / thoughts - There are a plenty Some examples which I faced / countered - No one passes the G2 & G in one attempt ---- I did and I know others did - Many people have returned -- My question is how many times they tried. The old story of Colonel Sanders ( KFC) --- It is said that he tried 1000 homes to sell his first Fried Chicken - Our degrees / certificates are not recognized -- it is true but our experiences are recognized ( at least in my field) - You need to have SIN to work --It is possible to work from the day one but eventually have to furnish SIN to the employer 2. Don't be ashamed to do ODD jobs 3. It is better if we can change our accent 4. Be extrovert 5. If possible fight the initial battle alone and then let family joins you 6. Avoid financial stress I always believe there is light at the end of the tunnel Thanks

Hi
Today i got back my stamped passports, My AOR is Nov 2003, updated in June 2008< PPR on 12 oct< medical done on 30th Oct, Passports sent on 20th Nov. I had misplaced my expired passports, when I sent passports along with it wrote a letter explaining that I have misplaced my expired passports. don't worry it is not a issue with them, relax,
wishes or fthose waiting for their medical and PPR, wish its a smooth sail for all.

Normally they take 12-15 months to send meidacsl after updation,nothing to worry. but is background check is done after updations or after medicals?? some guys are waitng for their PPR sincel 4-5 months after their medicals!!why so much gap is there between medicals and PPR??? The speed of stamping visas by chc is great. Vik9 got his visa stamped in 8 days ! He sent his passport on 20th of nov and chc must have received by 21st and chc sent back stamped passports by 29th of nov and Vik9 received on 30 nov. Wow !!!

Hi Virgo, My information is similar to yours. I would appreciate if you can share some more information as to when you applied and ecas shows 17th Jan, and if you can provide the six digits of the file no. As my number also starts with B045983. If it is in 3 series then I should be expecting it any moment now. I applied in Dec,03 and ecase shows 17th Jan, 2004, got upadate on 19th Jan,08. submitted in 24th Sep, 08. Still waiting. i wish you all the best Mr.PAckiaraj, whsn did u sent ur passports??did u recieve any mail from CIC regarding ur lost old passport? my cousin said that CIC takes the information from the passport department for the lost passport.Anyway my best wishes and prayer are with u.

In the worst case scenarios, there have been instances of people not issued visa even within 12 months period and being asked to redo the same. However, as general procedure one should get the visa within six months of medicals result reported and being positive. Hope, your friend gets the visa in time . i sent my pps in the first week of October i.e. as soon as we finished our medical.
remedical was done in first week of Nov.
do you think our external affairs will give any information about a citizens pp to another nationals.
ofcourse for certain cases such as international criminals etc. ------------- packiam |

can2k9, some get visa in a days time another in weeks time and someother get it in months time. as i have gone through the forum none of us can say for certain when one gets it. some cic officer does it fast and others at their leaisure. it all depends upon ones imm. officer. depends on our luck too.

no cunsultants have direct contact with CIC, i dont think they know the status of 2003 cases perfect. its just their guess work, most of them are money minded.

Even i do agree with you can2k9 ( I know many people other than the the members of our forum who are 2003 applicants and are still waiting for that single letter. Couple of them are from NOV 03 also, who are ready for sprinting towards DMP. So it's quite hard to say and believe that 03 applicants are almost through. These consultants keep on repeating the false information and that's all. Just a speculation or GUESS WORK as you said. | as for as know there are still three cases ,teacher by proffesion still waiting for magic letter,they have applied in dec 2003.no 2004 applied case has recd letter till date. the delay for 2004 applied cases is solely due to pending cases of 2003. |
