Thanks Megen and congratulations on landing.
As for myself, my wife sent her passport last week. Yesterday, e-cas updated with an extra line: medical results received. I hoped it would be "decision made". Did you guys see similar updates on ecas before getting the passport back? regards, tdolphin.

My wife received yesterday an email telling her that they sent her passport back using DHL paid on delivery. They also included the DHL-Egypt tracking number.

Thanks, Audball! You have given me a lot of reassurance over the months. Thanks for taking the time to give me all those calming words. XD
Actually, maybe you could offer me some advice on this... There's a cartoon studio that wants to hire me starting mid-December/January. Is it feasible that I'll be landed in time to accept the job if I'm sending out my Passport tomorrow? They've hung in there with me for months as I've given them frequent updates and they really want to hire me. I'm also wondering if my husband and I should start looking for apartments in Vancouver.. Currently we're out in Abbotsford. Boy, do I love to cut things close. |

You should absolutely be done.
Send your passport with the return express international envelope inside as they suggest to you. Send it to Fort Eerie and it only takes Buffalo up to 15 days to get it back in the mail. I had it back in the Canada post system within 5 days, you can track it with the tracking code on the return envelope you provide. Looks like you're close to the border so as soon as you have it back, you can swing across the border and land. You should be done by late November. And you can get your SIN right after landing and that's all you need to legally accept a job. I would tell them yes, for sure. If you get everything sent out tomorrow or early next week, you will easily be able to land before the end of the month. |
