Many districts offer job specific specialized language training programs. Many of these programs come with placements or networking opportunities.  Both the LDCSB and the TVDSB here in London offer employment focused classes. It's an excellent way to get your foot in the door, pick up industry specific language and build references.  Here are some links to those programs , but there are many more across the country. Use SLT (Specialized Language Training) and ELT (Enhanced Language Training) in your search terms when looking for local providers.

Settlement.org has an excellent tool for finding these programs in your area http://www.settlement.org/sys/faqs_detail.asp?faq_id=4001176
