Hello, I am concerened becuase I have been living in Canada for about 14 years now and I have never needed a study permit. I just enrolled in college and was informed that I need a study permit in order to continue going to college. Now my status isn't really anything at this point becuase my papers were screwed up when I was young. So my issue is that while my canadian citizen ship papers are being taken care of I would like to study which I need to get a study permit for. The only issue that I have is it is saying that I am not eligible to rceive this as I do not plan on leaving canada after my studies. DO I HAVE TO LEAVE CANADA IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO GO TO SCHOOL? are there ways around this or do I have to wait until I receive my full citzenship? What can I do?The immigration people told me to apply for the study permit but never informed me of the rule that I must leave canada after my studies is over. Canada has been my home for a very long time and I don't plan on leaving. Do I just apply for the study permit anyways as this does not apply to me?
Thanks a lot to whoever takes the time to read this long letter

Bobit22,
I am trying to understand your current status in canada...
First of all, in order to give you the right advice, you should mention how you entered canada, under which status have you been living here for 14 years? are your parents under the refugee program? are they claiming refugee since they landed in canada? I need to know what's your Status here?
I hope i can give you the right info or refer you to the right source for your case to be cleared.
Please answer the above questions.
