Extention on visit visa but i have a job offer!

HiMy visitors visa expires at the end of Dec 2011 but i have had a job offer of which my future employer has applied for an LMO.
He has recieved from immigration a File number and he has offered me a contract of employment for 24 months as a non skilled worker and has returned the contract of employment offer to immigration.
Do i need to apply for an extention on my visitors visa?
Unfortunately i only have 8 days left on my current visa.
please could someone help,thankyou.
