Hello,
Me and my wife plan to sponsor her mother to come to Canada temporarly because we are expecting our first child in January 2011. I have some questions in regards to the visa application:
- FORM IMM5257B: My mother inlaw will be coming to Canada alone. Do I have to fill out just her information on this form or my mother inlaw's family as well even though they aren't coming to Canada with her? I find that odd that it asks for the whole family even though they aren't coming.
- What is considered "sufficient funds?" She will be staying at my house and we will be providing her with meals and costs associated tith liesure. She is currently unemployed. My mother inlaw does not have much money back home, so we will be including a letter with our application stating that we will provide her with financial support. Is this ok?
- FORM IM5409E- Statutory Declaration of Common Law Union: What is this form for and why is it needed? Will she need to fill it out if she is coming to Canada alone? I noticed on the checklist that it says to submit it "if applicable."
Thanks everyone! All the best to you all!
