Correspondence letter validity work permit

Hi everyone 
I have asked for a work permit, and my application has been approved. Based on my contract, the validity of my correspondance/introduction letter is set to October 30th 2016. The problem is that my contract starting date is updated and I need to postpone my move for two months. I'd like to know if I necessarily need to ask for another work permit, or is there any way to update the curernt correspondance letter validity date? 

If I have to ask for a new visa, doesn't it pose any problem given that I have already an approved application in my profile?
