Hi:

I am filling out form IMM0008. I will appreciate if someone can clarify one of the questions:

Form section:  Principal Applicant’s Personal Details:

Q12. a) Previous countries of residence: During the past five years have you lived in any country other than your country of citizenship or your current country of residence (indicated above) for more than six months?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/step-by-step.asp

Is it continuous six months or cumulative six months over five years? In last four years, every year I visited Canada and stayed there for 2 to 3 months each time. Though I never stayed there for more than six months continuously, cumulatively I have stayed in Canada for more than 9 months in last five years. Should I answer "yes" for the above question?

Thanks so much for your help.

Regards

Feroz

Hi,

I am in the same boat. Applying PR for my mother. She has been to Canada as a visitor for last three years but has never stayed Six months or more and always returns before six months.

However in total over three years she has definitely stayed more than six months. Shall I say Yes to this question?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Akhs
