application time in canada

Hey All, 
I applied to sponsor my parents to canada in july, 2008. and the status of my application was recently changed to "in process" on the cic website. And the current processing time for this category of application takes about 34 months (according to cic website). So my question to you all is that, especially who have recently got the approval letter for "in canada" process, is that how much time it took for your application to get processed in canada. Was it more or less than approx 34 months. Also, whats goin to happen now, is cic going to ask me to update my file with recent documents. Please share your experience.
