to apply as a federal skilled worker, yr occupation must fall within the list of 38 approved job functions listed on the link below:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#list if yr job doesnt fall in any of those 38 jobs, you may have to seek another avenue to explore in order to apply for yr permanent residency.

Hey, I am Nigerian also living in Canada.
What category can you apply in? You have to make that determination yourself. This is the list in pdf format http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/pdf/Introduction.Pdf
I am not sure you qualify because I don't know how much work experience you have. But you can make a determination for yourself here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assess/index.asp
No, you can't use family friends to earn points. Only relatives. But if you are abov 67 points, you might not need the extra points. Take the English test also to gain points.
Goodluck. Please remember that everything you need is on the cic.gc.ca website. That's where you find all the links and information about applying. That's where I got the links I posted to you.
