I have noticed that the time when a minor's applicant status was set to "started to process" is 4 month later than that of the parent (it was a joint application of the 2). Anyone else had a similar shift in minor application's moving into "in process" stage compared to the adult's? Any idea why are they handled that way?

Yes in my case adult applications started processing 25.01.2013, and the minor application started processing on 14.08.2013.

Have no idea why; maybe because for minor there're fewer checks and no residency requirement so they don't bother with them as much.

Thanks for sharing. Out of curiosity, have your applications been completed (if so, what were the test and oath dates)? Trying to figure out if the fact the minor's application moved to in process may be an indication that the parent is past all the main checks...

Minors application is tagged with the Adult.
Both the applications proceed to the oath at the same time.

Good Luck!

That is clear. What I am curious about is if taking the minor's application into process means anything at all in terms of how far in the process they actually went (the hope apparently is that since the minor is now being processed the test is not too far away).

There is no confirmation on "if taking the minor's application into process means anything" but given how CIC works it may be a sign of progress.

Good Luck!
