Sarah BC:
No, Actually CIC is getting ready for December holidays. October and November they are going to complete all tests and oaths for 2011 folks. From January 2nd week we can expect some movement for 2012 folks. |

I am from Saskatoon and I applied last Oct. 24, 2011. I received my acknowlegment letter on Nov.24., 2011. It has been a year since I applied and my status is still "Received." It seems some posters who filed in 2012 have already seen their status change to "In Process." What gives CIC? I haven't received an RQ yet (I hope I don't get one). I called CIC but got completely different answers. Seriously, they have one F****d up process. |

Hi everyone,
I guess the whole process is messy and we do not now the criteria which we are assessed by. All we can do is wait and hope for the best. sburyca hope we do not get an RQ … just the thought of it is scary! cybercyclist I understand your frustration … maybe your local office plays a role in how fast your application is processed? Maybe? Please keep us posted… All the best, Sarah

It's sadly true. You reminded me of myself two years ago when I had absolutely no knowledge of such forums online (such as this) and didn't care what bureaucracy the process involved, until that damned night when I schockingly stumbled across the processing time and ever since became obsessed with how ludicrous the process and processing time are. What can I say, welcome to the club!

I have one questions.
Now the processing time shows July 2011 to June 2012 is 21 months.
So my file received by them on June 23th 2012, acknowledgment letter stamped July 24.
So does it means they will process my file in July 2011-June 2012 spam ?
Thanks |

Good observation. It used to be April 1st 2011 through March 31st 2012. So I guess the OB 407 so far hasn't increased the timeline substantially taking into account the last three months of the current sample for the statistics ending in June 2012 rather than March 2012. But then again, this only covers 80% of applications so we don't know what the statistics are for the 20% of applications. My guess is the processing time for those has increased significantly.
