Is this applicable for minors? If minor has been abroad >1095 days within previous 5 yrs, is he eligible for citizenship giving the condition of receiving the oath letter?

"Let's be clear. A PR who has been outside Canada for, say, two and a half years can, indeed, return to Canada and, so long as within the previous five years was present in Canada > 730 days, apply for and obtain a new PR card, and that card will be "valid" for five years. BUT that does NOT absolve the PR from continuing to meet the PR residency obligation. As has been oft times emphasized in the preserving PR status forum, the validity dates of one's PR card is irrelevant regarding compliance with the residency obligation.

If that PR then goes abroad again, as soon as that PR has been abroad > 1095 days within the previous five years, that PR is INADMISSIBLE, inadmissible for being in breach of the PR residency obligation, and as such no longer eligible for citizenship, and this is true even if the PR card itself is valid for another three or four years. "

What you quoted in bold is very generalized and generally incorrect. This is what the government says on the matter:

Losing your permanent resident status does not happen automatically. You cannot lose your permanent resident status simply by living outside of Canada long enough that you don’t meet the residency requirement. Unless you have gone through an official process, you have not lost or given up your permanent resident status, even though you may not be eligible to return to Canada as a permanent resident.

Specifically to your question, the only conditions for a minor to become a citizen are as follows:

- The minor needs to be a PR
- The minor's parent needs to be a Canadian citizen or in the process of becoming one.

Just for the sake of conversation.

1. The "machine" scans your answers, and you are supposed to enter the date when you left Canada. If you lie and get caught, you are pretty much guaranteed to lose your status pretty much at the border.

2. There is a CBSA officer at the exit lane, and last time exactly at YUL he picked me and sent to secondary. That was just one month before my citizenship ceremony.

3. Children under certain age do not even need to be in Canada to become a citizen because they do not need to attend the citizenship ceremony.

So what you are offering is not necessarily a "loophole", but is likely a great way to break the law and possibly create massive consequences for the child and the parent.

Thank you for the clarification.  I have deleted my post so as to not cause any confusion or misinformation.
