Dear all,
I received my Post Graduation Work Permit in June 2008, and was not given the full three years as my passport was only valid up till April 2010. I plan to get my passport renewed in two weeks time. My question is what should I do in order to get my work permit extended? I looked at CIC website but didn't come across a section on renewal or extension of PG Work permit. Please advise. Thanks very much. Nicodemus

PGWP cannot be renewed or extended. Try calling the CIC toll free # and see what they say but I'm almost certain it can't be extended or renewed.

That's what I thought when I looked up on the website.
However, when I first applied for my PGWP, I was supposed to be given a 3 years permit (till 2011) but instead given till the expiry of my passport. When I had enquired about it at the time, they said I'll just have to extent it once I get my renewed passport.
Anyone out there who has had similar experiences? What is CIC toll free number? Thanks Jamaisomal. |

Well if they told you that then hopefully you will be able to extend it. The # is 1-888-242-2100.

Hi
CIC told you, extend your passport, then apply to extend your PGWP to the 3 years. |
