I just applied for the skilled migration. And,

Application received at CIC:     Nov. 4, 2011 ( FedEx report)

How long will it take to get confirmation letter/ email from CIC?

Well , my friend, Now CIO- Sydney is busy with Aug last week applicants, so , you may have to wait for around 10-12 weeks to get some response from CIO.

Hi,

I had applied in August, 2011 and my application was received by CIO, Canada on 25th August, 2011 (FedEx Report).

I received +ve assessment email from CIO on 17th November, 2011. 

With every passing day, the time required to assess PR Application is likely to increase and so you may consider additional days for your application as compared with my case. I guess, you should receive reply from CIO within 12/13 weeks from the date of receipt at CIO, Canada.
