Dear gafa_designs
Here are answers to your questions according to my knowledge:

1)      Yes you will get 25 points for your education if you have finished your masters and you have at least 17 years of education.

2)      Yes you can claim points for your wife if you will include her in your application and she will go with you to Canada. (5 points for a master’s degree with minimum 17 years education)
(Don’t forget to submit the processing fee for your wife and to attach transaction receipt with your documents)

3)      For this question you can have a look at page 4 of this forum where kato did reply to same question asked by me. I also did not submit contracts or pay slips for my job in my home country and just attached an explanation on a blank page and still there is no problem.

I hope this will help. Good luck to all of us

Dear Ft74,

Thanks for super quick feedback, i would like to request you for one more favor from you, is it possible for you to post your explanation to consulate.(no need to have all details)... to be honest i never had contracts back home.. it was more like verbal agreement between us.

Thanks

Dear gafa_designs

I really don’t have any specific format for that, I just wrote them a 2 paragraphs handwritten explanation with heading “Explanation of my experience with XYZ Company”.

In first paragraph I told them that the company where I worked was closed on xyz date and my boss is retired now. Secondly, I am providing his old visiting card with his present mobile and home numbers and he can be contacted on these numbers for verification purposes of my experience.

In second paragraph I told them that it’s been many years now when I used to work there and I am not able to find any of my pay slips or my appointment letter.

That’s all I have mentioned in that explanation. I think you just need to be honest to tell them the exact situation and I hope they will understand.

Good luck to all of us..

Hey folks,

We just received a request for our medicals, so it looks like all our documents were in order. Assuming everything is good health wise, we should have this all wrapped up within a couple of months. Here's my updated timeline:

USER......APPLIED/AOR......DOC REQ/SENT......ADD
DOC/SENT......INTERVIEW/DONE......MED/DONE......PPR/PP SUB......VISA

Good luck to everyone. Cheers.

Dear j_grim14

Congratulations on receiving your medicals request, it’s really amazing to have medicals after couple of months. Would you like to share how many points you claimed for each factor?
Wish you all the best.

Thanks ft74. The numbers listed below should be the minimum that they will give us. Some of my experience is a bit of a grey area because I have one year of post secondary school, plus 11 months of full time work in Canada. According to the self assessment, I don't get points for this, but I'm hoping it will count for something. We might also get more points if they accept my wife's German graduate degree (state exam), although I've heard they don;t recognize this. Anyhow, I assume that we've gotten over 67 points, otherwise they would not have asked for the medicals as quickly.

Good luck to everyone.

Education 20
Language Ability 22
Work Experience 17
Age 10
Arranged Employment 0
Adaptability 4
Total Score 73

i finally got the visa and the passport. i was away, unfortunately, i was affected by the travel disruption because of the volcanic ash in iceland, and i submitted my passport a bit late (after the PPR). but once they received my passport, they were extremely fast.

i wish you all the best, and good luck to all!
