Application received on Nov 20, 2008
Nothing since! I guess they will land on Nov 20, 2018 knowing the processing times nowadays. |

Right now Mississauga is working on applications received in September 2007. So unfortunately you still have some time to wait. You can keep track of CIC's progress here:

how long did you received the acknowledgement letter after you sent the application? I just applied for my mom since June 2011 but up to now I get nothing from CIC.

Right now they are issuing acknowledgement letters for applications received on April 29, 2011. So you still have a few months to wait before you'll receive the acknowledgement letter. See:

If I remember correctly, I sent my application early november 2008 and I got the AOR around April 2009 but the processing date is Nov 20, 2008. I have applied from Quebec at the time and the application process didn't include much. The application was a simple one unlike the one that you have to send in if you live in Ontario for example. They did not ask for any financial history... Now that my file is switched to Ontario, I guess when the time comes which I am expecting to be early 2013, I will have to submit all the documents needed for processing. I am not sure how much time it takes to be approved for sponsorship to go on with the next step which is the application for immigration (which takes 6 years I believe).. Maybe in 2020, if they're still alive, they will land in Canada.

Hi, does anyone know how many passport size photos do I need to send along with my application ? My wife is a canadian citizen and I am a US citizen and both live in the US. She is sponsoring me to Canada ? Some people say 4, some say 6 some say 8. I took a total of 10 pphotos but the medical exam office asked for 6 so I only have 4 left. I am just wondering if the 4 is sufficient or I need to take more ?
Thanks,

Hi jojo2000, Mine was on December 2007. I received a letter on January 2008. And they sent me back the original documents earlier this year. They made copies of it for their file. I checked my CAS, and it still says "application received" status not available.
