I am in the process of sponsoring my spouse to move to Canada. We will be declaring his two children (both under 10 years old) from a previous marriage on the application as required. However, they will not be accompanying him to Canada (we plan on sponsoring them later). His children don't presently have passports and will likely not have them prior to the submission of the application. Since they will not be accompanying him to Canada, is it still necessary to provide certified copies of pages of their passports? Are copies of their birth certificates sufficient? Medicals and police clearance will be completed as required.
Thanks for any feedback.

Although our sponsorship was inland but I think it would be the same as outland. For my husband's daughter, we only provided responses on the forms and indicated the child from previous marriage had no passport who was around 6 years old at that time. CIC then sent a letter and kit at the residential address we provided them wherein a requirement for my husband's daughter had to go through medical examination. I believe my husband's ex-wife was asked a few questions and that was that. Our application was further processed and my husband was granted PR. |
