Determination of Naturalized or not?

I was born to a Canadian parent abroad but because of lack of correct information, my family applied for permanent residency in 1993 and I was a dependent.

I was not allowed citizenship immediately but only was granted such after about 4 - 5 years. I took an oath as the sole person in front of a judge. Do I really count as a naturalized citizen or second generation Canadian?
