I have sent my application for Family Sponsorship on February 2011. My wife was pregnant at that time and she was outside Canada. She was not able to go for medical because of the XRay. I have requested the Immigration to start the process and explained that she is pregnant. They returned the documents beginning of March 2011and asked me to re submit my application when my child is born and my wife passes the medical. My child has been born beginning of May 2011. I have called the Immigration to ask if I have to pay processing fee for my child and how much. They said since I am a Canadian citizen my son is also a Canadian citizen by birth. The problem is that the Immigration said I can’t sponsor him because he is already a Canadian. They said it is totally different process and time to receive the citizenship documents is 10 months?! I am very concerned that my application for sponsorship will be delayed a lot. As far as I know usually if the child is not a Canadian citizen will take up to 6 months from the same country. Now it looks like because my child is a Canadian citizen we have to wait at least 10 months. Please let me know if somebody had the same issue. How come that non Canadian child will come to Canada faster than a Canadian? I will not be able to see my child here in Canada just because he is born Canadian? What to do???? Thank you! |
