Hi every one,
I am new to this forum, I am from Nigeria, 27yrs old female architect, single.
I finished my first degree in 2006 and I have been working since, I am presently doing my masters in university in Nigeria nussuka, I will be writing French exams: d.e.l.f A1, from Alliance Francaise in dec and round up my masters degree in environmental design come aug next year.

My questions are under what category under noc do I apply? I presently work in an architectural firm and I work for my self as well, I did my internship in the u.s.a for 6months using a visting visa which I back dated when I got to Nigeria, I donot have relatives but I have close family friends can I use them?
Can I apply straight off or shld I wait till I finish my all these exams?
Thanking you for the anticipated response.

to apply as a federal skilled worker, yr occupation must fall within the list of 38 approved job functions listed on the link below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#list

if yr job doesnt fall in any of those 38 jobs, you may have to seek another avenue to explore in order to apply for yr permanent residency.

Hey, I am Nigerian also living in Canada.

What category can you apply in? You have to make that determination yourself. This is the list in pdf format http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/pdf/Introduction.Pdf
I am not sure you qualify because I don't know how much work experience you have. But you can make a determination for yourself here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assess/index.asp

No, you can't use family friends to earn points. Only relatives. But if you are abov 67 points, you might not need the extra points. Take the English test also to gain points.

Goodluck. Please remember that everything you need is on the cic.gc.ca website. That's where you find all the links and information about applying. That's where I got the links I posted to you.
