We sent you a letter on January 17, 2011 about the decision on you application.

We got a letter on jan 17th approving me as a sponsor and haven't heard anything since. Got a email from ecas tracker with the update last night that our app was returned on the same date as sponsor approval???? What?

We got no package from them why would they return it after approving me as a sponsor?
We didn't leave anything out we were contacted early about additional fam info and faxed that in right away.

I am freaking out.

Oh no Confused They must have messed up somehow (wouldn't be the first time...)

Did you try calling the Hotline? Since this seems to be a Mississauga issue they should be able to give you information on it.

I've been trying to call since 8am. It keeps saying all lines are busy call back later.

Angry I know...that happened to me many times too. I am SO sorry that you are having so much trouble, and I can only imagine your frustration (know how frustrated I am, and I am not having this kind of issues, not yet at least)

They probably missplaced your fax and are returning the application requesting the document be included and then for you to return it.

Well I went thru the automater this time and it said our file has been transferred to buffallo so...I'm assuming they are extremely delayed in updating ecas and by "returned application" they were referring to when we had to fax the additional family info in.... I thought I had lucked out when a immigration officer called and gave me her fax #.....opinions? Think this could just be a delayed reference to that? Since the automater says our file not in canada anymore....

Hm, in my opininion what you say seems likely....

Maybe try and send an e-mail to Buffalo then, explaining your situation. I know they are not great in responding to e-mails, but I think it's worth a try.

No, don't bother trying to send an email to Buffalo.  If the application has been transferred to them, you'll hear soon.  They will immediately send out an Acknowledgment of Receipt letter to the applicant that includes the Buffalo file number.  Without the file number, it won't do you any good to email them anyway.

I called again for HOURS the lady who finally answered said that the system was down and I would have to call back on Monday to see if it was back up. I asked if there were problems or anything with ecas updates and she said she couldn't say anything and I would just have to call back.
