Fran, For as long as you and your husband have put together a strong and complete application you should be fine. I sponsored my husband who was also denied refugee status. We are now awaiting December 2012 so that we may file his application for citizenship. Ours was a long process. He applied for refugee in late 2005 and I met him in 2006. I sponsored him as common law partner in 2007. We got married in early 2009 and by mid 2009, he received order to leave Canada. He bacame PR in late 2010.
We were told it should not affect our application.
Keep faith and be strong. Stay focus and be organized. And above all, be good to each other and be sensitive to each other during these trying times.
