I went to my husband's interview in Kingston Jamaica, but was asked to step out because.... "It's his interview" lol but I heard everything, my husband and I went through the questions and these were all of them. Hopefully everyone can benefit from our experience.

There was a glass partition between him and her and you have to talk into a speaker phone, and often have to repeat yourself or speak up so that she can hear you. She types out your answers too.

I hope this helps you out, it's really not as stessful as everyone makes it out to be.

This is what he was asked:

1. When and where did you meet your spouse for the first time?
2. How did you meet your spouse?
4. What does your spouse do for a living?
Where did you go to school.
7. How did your spouse immigrate to Canada?
Who Proposed? Where? Then he explained everything... in detail.
After she proposed, how did you react?
Why did you get married so quickly?
How did your Mom feel about you marrying an older woman?
What is your fathers name?
Where does your father live?
Do you have any brothers and sisters?
What size of Wedding did you have?
32. Where was it held? Then he went into the whole wedding story.
33. When was it held?
34. Describe the ceremony?
36. When did you get married?
37. Where did you get married?
38. Who was at the wedding?
39. What family members were there?
40. How many people were at the ceremony?
Was there anybody else from Canada other than her and her son?
Was your Mom at the ceremony?
52. Was a reception held? When and where was it held?
Why didn't you have the reception at Glistening Waters where you got married?
How many people were at the reception
55. Did you on a honeymoon? Where did you go and for how long?
57. Have you or your spouse been married before?
59. Do you have any children from your current relationship or marriage? Yes, she's 5 months pregnant
60. How many children? A: She has 1 and she's pregnant with the second one, which is the first one for me.
62. Where are the children now?
65. What relatives do you have in Canada?
72. Why did you marry your spouse?
73. Since your marriage have you seen your spouse? When? (Asked for dates specifically)
76. How do you correspond with your spouse?
77. How often do you talk on the phone?

I had brought all additional information that I had collected since I submitted the Immigration package so when she asked him a question where he had documented proof, he would pull out the paper and say, here is the receipt.. or I have a letter from her doctor confirming her pregnancy. Each time she would say to keep it and that she didn't want it. lol

There's several reasons why someone might be refused. Some are technical - for example criminal inadmissibility or if the applicant doesn't qualify as a member of the family class (this happens for example if a person was married when they became a PR but did not disclose their spouse to CIC). There's not much one can do about those.

Usually though the reason for the refusal is CIC thinking the relationship is not genuine. They might think the applicant is trying to scam the sponsor or that they're both in on it. What makes them think that varies between visa offices. For example, in India it might be an issue if a couple didn't have a religious ceremony while in the US that would be perfectly normal. There can also be issues if the woman is older than the man. If the man is the older one, it's less often an issue. Not fair perhaps, but that's how it is. Basically, anything that seems "off" can make them suspect the relationship isn't genuine.

Feb 16th - app received at CPC-M
Mar 3rd - decision made at CPC-M
Mar 27th - received AOR
Apr 29th - PPR received via email
May 12th - Passport with visa received :)

We were concerned  that there would be issues in our case as we got married 2 months and 22 days after we met.... and my husband Heart is 16 years younger than me. Thumbs Up but as you can see, clearly CIC wanted an interview to question those concerns and certainly asked questions pertaining to them.

I laughed when she asked him how his Mom felt about him marrying an older woman! LOL
and when the Who Proposed question came & how did you react... I laughed again when he told her that he said he had to ask his mother. LOL

BTW: My husband is picking up his PRV today. The IO advised that if his medical & police report had not expired he would have been asked for his Passport that day, PRV would have been approved immediately and he would have been going home with me that week.

Mrs Sam,
Oh I wish my case would have not been refused. My hubby is just 12 years my junior. I suppose being denied visa comes down to luck, chance, or numbers, the visa post, etc. My hubby is in Pakistan, we still don't know why visa office would not believe my husband's honest truthful answers to interview. Now we are in appeal application process, hope is all we have, but it is some hard to keep hope alive after being kicked down continuously.
