i'm about to mail the sponsored forms, supporting documents which include all the photos. It doesn't fit on a 9"x11" envelope..
do i really have to follow what is written on the guide and that is to place application on 9"x11" envelop, affix a sufficient postage, etc. before sending it to my wife, the sponsor? |

Hi Vincent.
You can use whatever you want to fit your stuff. It will just cost a little more to send. I used a mini file folder to send my supporting documents.

Hey Kueball, can you believe it's been 3 weeks since my wife got updated to DM and Canadian home address, but still no passport or visa in the mail, and the CEM won't take my calls or respond to my emails. Any suggestion what to do next? My wife is going to the CEM tomorrow butI doubt they'll even entertain her question. And we are supposed to be going on a business trip to Penang on Sunday. This is driving me nuts.

Hi Poseidon.
I don't want to rain on your fustration...but a DM doesn't always mean your wife was approved. You won't know until the envolope arrives. For the CEM. They might not let her upstairs because she is not a Canadian citizen and does not have an appointment. |

Hi Kueball, if she wasn't approved, why would they change her home address to Vancouver in ECAS? Could they make that colossal of a mistake? Either way, they shouldn't be keeping her passport this long after the processing is finished.

Hi Poseidon.
I am little confused. She is living in the Philippines...right? Why is her address in Vancouver?

Hi Kueball,
Generally after an applicant's ECAS status is updated to Decision Made, and the decision is approval of PR, the applicant's home address in ECAS is changed to the intended Canadian address they supplied on their application forms. That's one of the ways you know whether or not your DM is an acceptance or refusal. Since wife's home address on ECAS was changed from the Philippines to her intended address in Vancouver (my house), I assume she is accepted. If they made the address change and sent her a refusal, that would be a heinous whopper of a mistake. Clear as mud?

Finally! The visa and passport arrived today. 3 weeks after it was issued! It wasn't a CIC problem - they sent the visa out on March 1, same day it was issued. It was DHL that stuck it in a pile somewhere and forgot about it. They finally realized their mistake it when I called today. At least they sent a truck to deliver it immediately.
