We received your application for permanent residence on August 31, 2010.
We started processing your application on October 22, 2010.
Medical results have been received.
A decision has been made and you will be contacted.
Called CIC, they said first stage approval has been granted. Can anyone tell please what will be the next steps? And according to the experience how long does it take for final PR?
Thanks.

Guys,
CIC- Service Canada just called my husband from the local office (Saskatoon,SK)
They request for an interview on June 30. They want us to bring any documents i have from them,
and passport, marriage certificate, and prepare to pay for the fee $490.
I can't believe everything jump so fast, cuz the post offices are on strike so we didn't get any letter
from them, so that was a big surprise!!!
I hope it is going to be fine!
Cheers.
Vivian

Vivian, that is great! Congratulations!
I finally got an update on my E-cas. I submitted my Police Checks on the first week of May and they just open now on June 15th. Yes, over a month to open an envelope. Let`s hope now with everything in hand my process will be finalized soon. |

I think it is a security feature, shantese. Because in order to renew your passport you gotta be up-to-date with all obligations your country require before getting the new passport. For my country, for example, which voting for president is mandatory, we cannot renew our passport if did not vote in the previous election. Every country has its own laws and rules.
I never read it anywhere... that is just what makes sense to me. Besides they require a valid passport to finish the process and they won't issue any document based on an expired doc (passport). |

Hi,
I have a question for you guys who experienced the landing interview.
Like I said earlier, my husband got the phone call from local Immigration office.
I guess they don't normally call people for an interview, but due to the on-going postal strike,
they had to informed us by phone. E-cas says mine letter was sent on 6/15.
Here's the question, through the phone she told my husband to bring my:
1.$$$$490
2.any docs from CIC
3.Passport
4.Marriage certificate
But did not mention to bring any kinds of "photos"
I read some article from other sites, some landing interview requires photos taken as same as the one ppl apply for PR. But I only asked for 8 copies that time and ran out of them.
Should i go get the photo taken again? (But i kindda don't want to as I'll have to spend money again for spec. photo requirement for PR CARD later on)
Please advice!
regards,
Vivian
