Hi I got deported from the US 8 months ago for visa overstay. I am currently looking into the possibility of applying to Canada for PR. If I lie about my deportation will they find out? I really don't want to lie so if I choose honesty will they look at my application at all or, just throw it out due to my deportation. Please help as I am sick with worry about this as I really need my application to go through so that I may see my husband.

Hi
Yes, CIC/CHC has access to the USINS data base. An overstay in the US doesn't make you inadmissible to Canada. I assume you know that you have to qualify to for Immigration to Canada either as a skilled worker or sponsored immigant? |

Both I and my husband qualify for the skilled worker visas, but I was just a little scared about what to do. |
