I am an international student and have been studying on a study permit full-time since January. My husband has an open work permit as a spouse of a student AND is currently employed. This fall term I have realized that I am unsatisfied with my institution and wish to de register.

1. Do our study/work permits become invalid immediately? Or am I permitted to stay in Canada while looking for another school?

2. If they become invalid, how long do we have to leave country?

Thank you...

Also both documents say valid until July 2012, but I am concerned for my husband's legal work status if I am not fulltime student at this very moment.
