security clearance for job

i WILL be applying for Some jobs here in Canada which require security clearance. 
I am from England. UK. but I have received a request to apply to Scottish Police certificate .I have never lived in Scotland 

MY UK Police certificate says FOR IMMIGRATION PURPOSES. 

Has anyone used the same for this purpose..
