I was also thinking that if we sent it right away then we could just try and change our flights and go in February or march instead. How long does it usually take to get your passport back? I would guess around 4 weeks?

for some reason i couldn't put up my original post. here it is

Well we finally got some news today, a passport request! We had been "in process" since september, so it took a little longer than I thought but its still welcome news. I have one problem though, in the email it states that we have to send the passport within 45 days. We are heading down to spend Christmas in Spain on Dec 20th and then to Mexico to visit my family and wont be back until 2 weeks after the 45 day deadline. IS there a way to postpone this?  Will our application go back to the bottom of the pile? Or since we already have the ppr will it jsut pick up where we left off? And how would i do this if its possible. otherwise we will look at changing his flight, which could be pretty  expensive. I Sent an email enquiry to canada immigration and they will get back to me within 28 days. great...

No idea on London, but I got mine back from Buffalo in two weeks! If you look in BritianCanada's timeline she got her passport back from London in what looks like 3 weeks.

Gulata: My passport came back registered mail via Canada Post, I had to sign for it..I was lucky as I was just about to take my daughter to school when I saw the mail van! Would have sucked if I had to go pick it up from the post office knowing what was in the package!
