Hi ya, it's a "Facilitation Visa F1". It's given in cases of emergency like if a canadian needs to get home & has lost their passport. In my case my kids are entitled to canadian citizenship & iv applied for their certs but theres a back log of 18months so i need this F-visa to get them to canada before school starts in september while their waiting the the certs they should issue the kids with these visas.

Hi britincanada, Im hoping i dont have to get my ex's permission for the F-visa, if she had her citizenship it wouldnt be a problem but they might ask for his consent for the f-visa. I hope not cas i dont talk to him although my daughter keeps in touch with him, she's 14. He doesnt know we're moving to canada yet. I will tell him but didnt want to tell him right now incase things go wrong.

I think the fact that Tim is paying child support now should be ok. I know he's in arrears but is he paying a bit extra each week to eventually clear the arrears? Also if he had good reason for not paying at the time then it wont look so bad but the fact theat he's paying now & trying to clear the arrears is good.
Not sure about the over stay on your visa though, they may not be happy about that but surely they wouldnt hold that against someone forever.

Wish they'd hurry up & put us all out of our misery.

lg107, I think your case is a straight forward enough, I dont think the fact that you were married previously will matter given the length of time you have been with your Husband! It only matters when It looks like you have married just to bring somebody into Canada and sounds like you have been together more than long enough for a Common-law application never mind a spousal and I am sure CIC will see that right away!!

My only worry with my case is that I over stayed my Visitors Record in 2007 for 16 months!! And we have kids. I am concerned that because we have a 3 year old together and Tim has twin sons aged 13 that he pays child support for as they live with their mother but we have them every other weekend and was in default of payment for child support in 2008(but is paying now however in arrears) that we may have a problem with his sponsorship!!

Oh God I hope your right uktocan. Im just hoping that the London office will get back to me some time soon about getting the 2 kids their facilitation visas while they're waiting for their citizenship certs, cas its going to take 18 months to get the certs, thats the waiting period right now.
I hope my ex husband doesnt have to give permission for my daughters visa cas he'll most likely delay things on purpose.
