Hey so I finished my paperwork for my wife and sent it to Canada Immigration last week.  Am I suppost to receive a letter informing that they have received it or do I call them to find out?

they didn't send me  a letter saying they received it but they do send one when the sponsorship bit is approved...prob around 3 weeks or so. It'll have a client ID number aswell so you can login to e-cas and see how everything is going!

Good luck!

Call in 2 or three weeks, and ask for your client ID.
For in-land cases you can use e-case, not sure if it is available for the out-land cases.

Have you made outland or inland application? For inland you can call 1-888-242-2100 http://www2.vpl.vancouver.bc.ca/DBs/Redbook/orgPgs/2/275.html and make an inquiry. At present time it takes 5-6 months (first stage approval). For outland the same thing, since your appl. will go first to the CIC Mississauga. Current processing time 32 days. However, in both cases you will receive a reply from CIC.  More info: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/process-in.asp

Good luck!Smile
