Approved application for study permit and passpor

Hello guys,

If my application at MyCIC gets approved and my visa is issued, how fast should I submit my passport. Can I extend the time for submitting my passport to get the Visa?
Can I submit my passport at any time as long as the expected entry date to Canada is not passed?
