I never found any info on ecas after my sponsor was approved. We sent our app in early August. I was not able to access ecas until we got the client number on the sponsorship approval letter. I received no AOR from Buffalo, but I did get an email PPR in early November; I checked ecas several times after that but still did not see any change from "in process."

I applied in early August. It took about a month to get sponsorship approved and transfered to Buffalo in early September. It was 2 months processing in Buffalo before I got the email PPR.

While Buffalo has been notoriously minimalist in updating eCas, in the past it did update eCas as to key events, such as "in process" as well as "medicals received," and "decision made." For me, just over a year ago, "medicals received" and "decision made" were dated the same day. For all these events I received the actual letter about the same day, or within a day or so, of the event appearing in eCas (several days after the date of the event). Most reports I have observed since then suggest that this is still often the case for Buffalo, but before and after me there have been some reports of no updates in eCas for some whose apps were being processed in Buffalo.
In any event, patience is in order. It could happen soon. It could take a few more months. For most going through Buffalo it happens in less than six to eight months, and for many (like mine) it is significantly less than that. But, for now be patient. |

Same here, except I got both of those on Monday (even though the letter they sent me a couple of weeks ago said that they'd received the medicals). I'm guessing I'll get a letter sometime before the end of the week, as all mail correspondence to/from the Buffalo consulate has taken two days in either direction. Buffalo received our application and began processing it the same day- Nov 4. Since then, we have had no updates through e-cas. It kinda sucks. I know the medicals are available to them for at least over a week now (faxed Ottawa medical centre) and still no update about medicals. I am checking the mailbox like a freak show...waiting and hoping for a PPR by mail!

I think it took about 2 weeks or so. We saw on e-cas that Buffalo had started processing it before we actually got AOR from Buffalo. I have watched various immigration forums for awhile now, and its seems like no visa office, including Buffalo is very consistent with updating e-cas. As a matter of fact I believe dealic, who was approved in record time, never got an update through e-cas from Buffalo, and instead just got a PPR email from Buffalo. I know its easier said then done, but I wouldnt worry yet at all. Are you using you (the sponsor's) info and the receipt payment info to try and log on? |
