HELP! H & C after AIP background check and medical

Hello everyone!

Short my time line:
July 2011 - apply Refugee claim 
Jan 2013 - rejected refugee
Apr 2013 - apply H & C application
Feb 2014 - rejected H & C application
Sept 2014 - apply H & C (second time) 
Nov 2014 - Approval in principle received   

My question are : 

Does CIC have to do the background check and medical check again I mean I think they did do that when I applied for refugee  ? 
When CIC send AIP letter did they do background check by itself or criminal check or I have to try to do it my self ? I am wondering because its hard to d that my self in my old country. Its was really dangerous there and  I am really run from there...   Background and criminal check what that mean?  I am scary if some BAD persons from my old country will find where I am .... incredible corruption there in police and government. 
Have I any protection now after Approval in principle letter?
