OK here goes. I applied to sponsor my wife from China. Her application was received in Hong Kong on March 18th, 2009. I have since contacted my MP and they have said her file will be fowarded on Dec 21st, 2009 (what ever that means). I am sure by then her Medical will expire as she had it done on December 19, 2008. If they grant her a PR Visa but requires a Medical redo, how long will it take before they receive her Medical redo and how long before she will receive her PR Visa?

"How long?" is typically impossible to answer. Each case is different, and processing timelines vary from office to office. It doesn't take that long for the DMP to send the results to the Regional Medical Centre that serves HK - but if they ask your wife to redo her medical, chances are they'll give her a specific amount of time in which to complete it, and they'll probably put a "bring forward date" on the file that corresponds with that timeline. In other words, if they send your wife a request to redo medicals and they give her 60 days to comply, they could put a 60 day "BF date" on her file and they won't look at it again until the 60 days is up and they can expect the results to be available for their request from the RMC. If they're not too busy, they might check weekly - but the bottom line is that they're not going to be watching for an indication that her results are in.
Each case is unique - each has its own timeline. All you can go by are the guidelines - they typically try pretty hard to meet the posted processing limits. HK is currently processing in 8-14 months so you're just now within the limits for minimum processing time. It could easily go another 6 months - depends entirely on how straight-forward your case is and how much time it takes to accomplish her background checks. |

Can you tell me if you sure about this? |

According to PMM from another site:
So a 'bring forward' date doesn't mean the application will not be looked at until that date. If something arrives that pertains to it, it will be handled. But if in 60 days nothing happens concerning the application, when the 'bring forward' date arrives, an IO will look at it and decide if anything needs to be done, like sending a reminder to the applicant or something. The BF date is just a way for them to make sure an application doesn't get forgotten, not an excuse to not deal with new things. |
