Hey guys I need some info for a friend, she's facing deportation Jun 30, 2020, at this point she have no application in, but she's planning and getting married so she can have something to show,

Question: Do you think getting married will stop the deportation for her and 2 children?

@Nisha - applied via lawyer. AOR was sent directly to him after 6 weeks. He forgot to send it to us but after we followed up he remembered.

You can check application using your unique client number. If you ever applied for any kind of visa or immigration paper, you should have received this unique client number.

Sorry to disappoint but marriage to Canadian does not suspend deportation.
My spouse is under removal order and having me as « Canadian » does not help him. The only thing CBsA could do for us is give us PRRa application to buy time for HC. He is inadmissible due to misrepresentation so I cannot sponsor him.

My first ever post in a forum:

-we applied for my husbands PR, which required a H&C because of criminality...he was deported in 2015 so its a outland application ( we have been married for almost 5 years and have 2 young children)
-my husband was brought to Canada as a young child (7 years) and lived there until he was 35
-we applied for H & C in Aug 2018, so its been 17 months. Around the 9th month they started requesting updated documents and additional documents (from his court cases - which were too old). We submitted what we could and provided them a letter from the courts saying the documents did not exist. So I am hoping its decision time...I just requested the GCMS notes
-I think even if the H & C is approved he will need a Authorization to Return to Canada

I havent read anyone in a similar situation so I thought it was important to post

Thanks for sharing! Similar case here - spouse filed HC because he lost PR due to misrepresentation and I cannot sponsor him. So far he is with me but he is under removal order so if he does not get first stage approval soon, he will be sent back to Africa to wait decision there.

Please can you share your GCMs notes when you get them? Not all of it of course, but just key dates. Thanks a lot!
