Congrats!!! <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" alt="Clap" title="Clap" />

I got AIP from my laywer today too and I still can't believe it. I cried so much!

Hope everyone gets their approval letters. It's such a relief!
I cried a lot , I felt like this the letter I have been waiting for and it’s in my hand . I kept the envelope and every time I see the letter , I think about the officer how kind he must be . I was so happy that with excitement I got fever :D :D trust me it’s true , I got high fever on that night still suffering . I haven’t confirmed my address yet. Tomorrow will meet the lawyer. Btw congratulations:)

Thank you Alien, congrats to you too! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />

Do you have a work permit? I'm gonna need to apply for one. Lawyer proposed to take care of it ( more $$$ for them) but I think I will do it on my own.
What do you think?
this H&C application was for my mother so I’m doing everything for her. She didn’t have any work permit , she was a visitor before. But now I am going to apply . I don’t think it’s a good idea to do by yourself unless your lawyer is asking a lot of money . If it’s free to apply then my lawyer asked 220$ or this is the fee not sure . But first you can check the application what kind of information they asked for . Did your file send to Niagra falls yet? Mine was sent right away sent to Niagra falls after AIP.

It's not free to apply. It's around that amount ( 200$) but my lawyer is asking for a significant amount.
How did you find out about the file being sent to Niagara? The notes? I never ordered mine. Lawyer didn't order and said they don't say much.
What does it mean the fact that it has been transferred to Niagara?

So I should go with them for the work permit.

what was the time between file transferring and AIP … how much time it took between both

TFR is the same code that shows on our GCMS notes from when the file was transferred to Toronto. It was transferred 16 months before AIP, but his case was complicated as it had to be decided by NHQ (Case Management Branch)

hello future Canadian , today when I met her she showed me the letter which she received last week , it’s written my mom’s file will be proceed in Niagra falls ofifce . It was sent by Montreal BPO. Lawyer was just telling why they sent it but nothing to worry . I saw few posts from this forum where people talked about this unfortunately I can’t find that post . Did your lawyer ask a lot of money for that? If you wanna be safe then proceed with them , you know they worked for you and if anything they will take care . My lawyer also told me never plan to go to border and get the work permit from there as I told her a lot of ppl get their permit from border .

I ordered just a day after my AIP was issued (I didn’t know it was approved as I received the letter after few days ) let’s see when I receive it .

I just ordered too. It gives the option to request reasons for decision, but I just made the normal request, so will be interesting to see what they provide.

Hello,

where are you applied from? usualy files are transfert to work load reduction for first stage decision, then transfert to you local office for stage 2. So another officer will now work on your file.

As GCMS after AIP, it show the reasons why you where approuved. Officer write it on the notes part. You can see which of your H&C reasons she value the most and which she value less (if any).

Alien are you from Québec?

There is nothing complicated on "after AIP Work Permit", It's a formality cause with AIP you are now elligible for Work or Studie Permit. Only thing is that it will mention ( Does not confer status).

You can do it fully online by uploading the few documents they will ask. Juste make sure you check the box that you are applying as an H&C AIP older and put your AIP letter in your application.

But, if your have enough money to pay a lawyer plus the 255$ for the work permit, why not? give yourself a break and let him/her do it.

As in my own situation, I didn't have that money. So I just did it by my own and got it 1 week for 2 years. (one week was exeptionally short as processing time is arround 2 month)
