Were they helpful to you in the past? We call every month and they just say it is waiting in queue... I am not sure call center agents know much. They might be just an outsourced call centre. Last time we called they could not answer basic questions about child sponsorship laws. Next time we won’t bother and just call our CBsA agent directly. |

Good luck. Please let us know if you get any meaningful information. In our case, we could only get information when our MP’s assistant called them. And I am guessing they have a different call line to contact them because he could get a much more comprehensive status on file. |

They should write your name, relationship to you and comment on your ties to Canada (e.g. you studied together in Canada, you volunteered together to help Canadians, your children studied together). So they should talk as witnesses of how you contributed to Canada. In my spouse’s example, we submitted: 1. Letter from friend whom my spouse helped to find her first job in Canada 2. Letter from his college classmates whom he tutored to help them graduate 3. Letter from ex colleagues who wrote how hard he worked (night shifts etc.) Most people have no time to write these things so you can type the text yourself and ask them to sign, provided they agree with the contents. You can add their contact details at the end. I doubt they will be called, but it provides assurance that these are « real » people. We also added pictures with these friends. We had a lot of photographs. They like seeing mixed groups (different races and ethnicities). Edited by Feltrinella - 23 Dec 2019 at 8:41pm |
