That given that I am applying outland I can put my Canadian address down rather than a British one?

On the form IMM1344 it asks in question 6 for the address of where the person to be sponsored is living, it then goes on to say has the person been admitted to that country for more than a year, if not it will be dealt with by the visa office for that country.

So is it fair to assume that should I put down my Canadian address and then tick the box no in 6(b) it would be dealt with by London anyway?
Or should I be putting a British address for it to be dealt with by London?

If you have been in Canada legally for at least a year, the application would be processed in Buffalo.
Application sent May 13, 2010
Started processing July 22, 2010.
Decision made March 7, 2011
Landed April 13th 2011
The whole process took exactly 11 months!

I will have been in Canada leagaly for a year but I was never admitted to Canada legally for a year. I was given 6 months then 3 months under implied status then another stamp for 6 months. So Whilst I will have had more than 1 year admitted contunually it was not given at once, does this count?

No, it doesn't.  You must have been legally admitted for one year.

I think you can still put the Canadian address. It would however get processed in your home country (Great Britain).

I just figured if I can have it processed in the UK anyhow then it wouldnt really matter if I put my address in BC. To do otherwise really would be misleading. I will have been here 12 months and consider myself living here so surely I should put this address?

redeagle, put your mailing address as the Canadian one, and your residential address as the UK. That way all your correspondence will get sent to you in Canada where you live.
