I have a question for you and I really hope you can assist?

At the time I went through my immigration I had no debts or taxes owing to the government.  It now turns out (nearly two years on) that I 'may' be liable for some government taxes if this is that case does this affect me in Canada.  Also can the UK government do anything to make me pay the taxes in Canada, will this affect my Canadian record?

Please get back to me ASAP!

Thanks in advance

as i know canada or great uk are not linked to each other but stell they ask for any forien income.
if you get canadian RQ then paying taxes in another country is a bad point .

Though I don't know the answer, I hope some follow up questions will help whoever will come to answer your question:

1. is it HMRC or Canada Revenue Agency who say you still own taxes?

2. how long ago were those arrears?

Edit: Oh, I didn't notice the thread title, then it is in UK you owe the taxes.

This is a jurisdiction matter… if you owe some money to UK government, then Canada government has no rights to ask any questions about it… this matter is between yourself and the UK government.
