I have a question for you and I really hope you can assist?
At the time I went through my immigration I had no debts or taxes owing to the government. It now turns out (nearly two years on) that I 'may' be liable for some government taxes if this is that case does this affect me in Canada. Also can the UK government do anything to make me pay the taxes in Canada, will this affect my Canadian record? Please get back to me ASAP! Thanks in advance |

I believe UK has tax treaty with Canada, so you only have to pay tax once. If you reside in Canada, then you will pay tax in Canada. Also if you reside in UK less that 183 days a year, you are non-resident of UK for tax purposes.
However I have no knowledge of what would happen if you owe back taxes to UK.
You should consult a tax professional about it. |
