hi MN,

If any of our friends are coming back after landing in canada, They need to complete the following formalities:

1) Be ready with a canadian address when u land @ the airport. Since the immigration people there will ask u to provide them with a canadian address for PR cards. If u delay this, ur processing of PR gets delayed.
 
2) Apply for SIN even though u might not be staying for long.
 
3) Prepare a Goods to follow list w/o fail(even if u dont intend to ship those items or r not sure about some items). This is ur only chance to evade customs duty for importing. From then on, whatever items u bring might be subjected to import/custom duties.
The goods to follow list must be a detailed one(if possible, also include photographs...)
 
4) Book ur temporary stay before u land. This is specially crucial for people who dont have relatives/friends there.

Hello folks,

My friend Gayanendra aaplied DEC 2003,sent PP & Med in Nov.09,E CAS Status changed to Decision made,passports yet to receive?

Congrats Preet Narula !!

Hi All, I sent my passports on 18th Dec and on 13 Jan. I got a letter from them asking for new photographs according to the new specifications. CHC has also asked for new passport for my son, although his PP is not 3 years old yet. This is very surprising as in November only, they had asked us to go in for medicals, how come they have realised the requirement of new pics and passport after a month. No logic behind this.

strange case, did you send photographs with medicals??maybe specifications are not correct, but how can they ask for new passport when still 3 yrs validity is left??? you must ask them.
